Best holiday destinations

Many of us play with the idea to still extend the summer a little bit longer. But we do not really know where to go. Last minute holiday deals are numerous but which holiday region is the right one?

With the world on hands and some statistic I have access due my current job at the airport, I will try to expose my top recommended holiday destinations, however this will take some time so I recommend you to check back in a future as I will try to be updating this hub.

I also hope many of you to colaborate and propose your best holiday destinations...maybe where you live or some places you visited in the past. It would be great if we can share our experiences for others to decide where to go.

I will try to focus on Spain right now as it is the country I know the most, but I would like to read your suggestions, even if your favourite holiday destination is Hawaii...just let us know the reason you like it that much.

Malaga in Spain as my first suggested top tourist destination

Within the Spanish territory there is a popular tourist destination. That place is Malaga city and the whole province, offering the traveler multiple entertainment options and thus satisfying many different tastes. With beautiful pieces of coastline dotted throughout its territory and charming villages of whitewashed houses and narrow streets, the capital in recent times has been uncovered as a leading international cultural focus.

The Costa del Sol is the sun coast in the south of Spain, in Andalucia. Concretely, the Costa del Sol is the Mediterranean coast of the province of Malaga.

Who is associating Andalucia with horses is certainly right. But the Costa del Sol has much more to offer. Due to its sub-tropical climate, this region offers the perfect holiday weather all year round. The coast is also protected by mountain ranges from cold winds from the north. As a magnet for vacation – due to the mild weather – the Costa del Sol offer includes great hotels in Malaga and a large number of excellent sports facilities. Especially golf has a rightful place and golf enthusiasts can pursue their passion in over 30 different golf courses.

But also regarding wonderful landscapes this holiday area has to offer a whole lot. The beautiful inland lakes should always be worth a visit during a vacation. Of course we should also include a visit to the beaches - after all, Malaga province offers about 320 days of sunshine throughout the year.

There are many other exiting activities in Malaga as water sports, and of course horseback riding, hiking and climbing. There is a lot to explore on the Costa del Sol if we like ancient ruines and culture. Here is especially noteworthy Ronda in the inland, an ancient city which was appointed as city of historic heritage.

Malaga city has a lot to offer in terms of culture, museums, monuments, shopping and festivals. Furthermore, Malaga is a university city and is known for an animated nightlife throughout the year.

Malaga museums

Malaga has become a city of museums and the latest cultural implementations are very successful and with good prospects. The Picasso Museum has several temporary proposals besides the permanent exposition. In the CAC we find contemporary art works and expositions. Or in the Thyssen Museum we can enjoy the exhibition of Monet, Picasso, Matisse and Miró.

You definitely won´t be bored in Malaga, because there is always something to do if you want to.

Other places of interest in Malaga we can visit are:

  • Marbella, a place for the luxury and shopping.
  • Nerja where we can find the beauty of the southern nature.
  • White villages to find the cultural heritage of Andalucia.

Do not forget...

If you come to Malaga not just because the beach and good weather...do not forget to visit the white villages and other provinces like Cadiz or Granada in Andalucia. I consider Andalucia can offer the visitor a very wide holiday offer for every taste, and because of this, I propose Malaga as the best holiday destination.

Low cost Flights to Malaga

Malaga is an important hub in the domestic and international air network, thus finding low cost flights tickets to this popular location on the Costa del Sol is not difficult at all.

A great hub on visiting Malaga. I visited here many years ago with my children when they were young. I would love to return there as it was a holiday that we really enjoyed.

I have traveled all over Spain, and I agree with you - Malaga and the surrounding areas are the best places to visit and spend time in Spain. I love the Costa del Sol and have spent time here on the beaches. Spain is my favorite holiday destination. I also love Barcelona, but my heart belongs to Madrid. In another life I think I was a madrilena.
